Moms who reach out to me usually want grad photos for their child, but have no idea where to start. During the free consultation, I usually ask questions like "What vibe are you going for in the grad photos?" or "What emotions do you want captured in the senior pictures?" Questions like these help moms and students figure out what their dream graduation photo session looks like. I also make recommendations on locations, outfits and props depending on what mom or the grad have in mind.
Getting grads comfortable during the session is very important. This helps them become relaxed in front of the camera and be their genuine selves. Before the grad photo shoot, we'll have our consultation. I get to meet your grad and we discuss what he or she wants throughout the session. I plan my shot list and posing line up based on our conversation. In my experience, planning and collaborating with the student are key ingredients to genuine smiles.
